The Hispanic Summer Program (HSP)
The Hispanic Summer Program is an ecumenical program of theological education offered from the Latinx perspective and context. Sponsored by 39 ATS member schools, HSP is open to Latinx seminary students as well as non-Latinx seminary students. The two-week intensive summer program includes one graduate-level course taught by a Latina/o faculty member, with new courses offered every summer. The application for the 2017 HSP, to be hosted by North Park Seminary in Chicago, will be available online beginning the week after Thanksgiving. Space is limited so early application is encouraged. For a list of courses and faculty for 2017 please visit the HSP website. The date of the 2017 HSP is June 17 to July 1. All courses are taught in English, though bilingual classrooms are the norm and students may submit their written work in Spanish.
The HSP Director is Rev. Dr. Daisy L. Machado who is Professor of American Religious History at Union where the offices of the HSP are also located.
