The Decolonization of the Soul

Join us at Union Theological Seminary for Decolonization of the Soul, a special Hispanic Heritage Month event led by Dr. Samuel Cruz. This gathering will highlight the profound intersections of faith, culture, and liberation within the Hispanic community, inviting us to reflect on the ongoing work of dismantling colonial legacies in both personal and collective spiritual life.
We are honored to welcome Rev. Dr. Gerardo de Jesus, author of Undeserved Suffering: A Psychospiritual Autobiography of Post-Colonial Faith from the Puerto Rican Diaspora. His groundbreaking work offers a powerful lens into the lived experience of post-colonial faith, resilience, and identity. Together, Dr. Cruz and Rev. Dr. de Jesus will guide us in exploring how decolonizing the soul can open new pathways to justice, healing, and belonging.
