BIOGRAPHY

Hussein Rashid, PhD specializes in working on Muslims in US popular culture and Shine theologies of justice. He co-edited a book with Jessica Baldzani on Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel, Ms. Marvel’s America: No Normal (2020) and is co-editing another volume with Human Mohibullah on Islam in North America (Bloomsbury). He is currently co-editing The Bloomsbury Handbook on Muslims and Popular Culture with Kristian Petersen (Bloomsbury). He was the content expert on the Children’s Museum of Manhattan’s exhibit “America to Zanzibar: Muslim Cultures Near and Far,” and the executive producer of The NY Times animated op-doc “The Secret History of Muslims in the US.”
