Eighth Annual Judith Davidson Moyers Women of Spirit Lecture with Dolores Huerta
3041 Broadway
New York, NY 10027
USA
We cordially invite you to join us for the eighth annual Women of Spirit Lecture. Renowned labor activist Dolores Huerta will deliver this year’s address, and will also receive the Union medal, our seminary’s highest honor.
Dolores Huerta is an iconic labor activist, immigration reformer, co-founder of the United Farm Workers Union, and recipient of the 2012 Presidential Medal of Freedom. She helped organize the 1965 Delano grape growers strike and boycott, which helped workers secure a collective bargaining agreement and pass California’s Agricultural Labor Relations Act. In addition to her labor activism, Huerta has also been a tireless voice protesting pesticide exposure in communities of color, and in addressing police violence.
