Kentuckiana and Ohio alums will gather on the occasion of Dr. James Cone’s 2018 Grawemeyer Religion Lecture on Tuesday, April 10, at 7:00 p.m., http://www.lpts.edu/grawemeyer. Because Dr. Cone is unable to be present, Louisville Seminary has invited the Rev. Dr. JoAnne Marie Terrell, M.Div. (1990), M.Phil. (1994), Ph.D. (1997), to deliver the lecture.

Alums who are able to join us for dinner before the lecture will meet at August Moon Bistro at 5 p.m., after which we will head to the seminary, which is located at 1044 Alta Vista Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40205, in time for the 7 p.m. lecture. RSVP to Emily Odom by April 6 either by email or phone; see above.

The Rev. Dr. JoAnne Marie Terrell will be lecturing on Dr. Cone’s book, The Cross and the Lynching Tree, at 7:00 pm, Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at Caldwell Chapel. Dr. Terrell is Associate Professor of Theology, Ethics & the Arts at Chicago Theological Seminary, an ordained elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, and a former PhD student of Dr. Cone. She is the author of Power in the Blood?: The Cross in the African American Experience. The event is open to the public, and there will be a reception in the Winn Center following the lecture.
