Shawn Copeland is Professor of Theology at Boston College. Her interests include theological anthropology, political theology, and African American intellectual history and religious experience. She also teaches in Boston College’s acclaimed Pulse Program which educates students in social justice by putting them into direct contact with marginalized people and organizations for social change while reading classic works of philosophy and theology. Her book Enfleshing Freedom: Body, Race, and Being is widely cited. She is a past President of the Catholic Theological Society of America who lectures across the US and abroad.
