Bestselling author and award-winning physicist Brian Greene will discuss the cosmic philosophical implications of modern physics. What are we to make of quantum physics, with its paradoxical descriptions of reality; or of string theory, with its claims that there are 10 or more dimensions; or of the seeming implication of modern physics that time travel is possible? Is “scientific materialism” really an apt description of the worldview of modern physics? Is there room for free will and for purpose in the universe science is revealing?
