UNION ADMISSIONS – Applying to Union’s PhD. Program
This event is designed as an open discussion of various faculty members and Ph.D. students with MA, MDiv, and STM students inside and outside of Union Theological Seminary who are interested in applying for PhD programs (at Union and elsewhere). Why would one want to pursue a Ph.D. program, and what does it take to get into one? How best to prepare for the application process? What are some tips for a well-rounded course selection in one’s masters level program? How to organize effective recommendations? How to build up connections that are conducive to getting accepted?
The Panelists:
Olusola Adegbite, PhD student, New Testament
Pamela Cooper-White, Academic Dean, Professor of Psychology & Religion
Vanessa Hutchinson, Vice President of Admissions and Financial Aid
Aliou Niang, Professor of New Testament
John Thatamanil, Professor of Theology & World Religions
Chairperson: Dr. Jan Rehmann, Director of the PhD Program
The panelist discussion is then followed by a student-only discussion on Zoom (faculty and administration exit from Zoom), MA, MDiv and STM students are invited to ask questions to Ph.D. students, tap their experiences and insights, and enjoy the evening.
