Search Process and Timeline

Guided by Spencer Stuart, a leading global executive search firm, the process is being overseen by a diverse Presidential Search Committee representing students, faculty, staff, alumni, and trustees.

The search began in September with a series of community listening sessions designed to gather broad input from across the Union community. These conversations, followed by a comprehensive stakeholder survey, invited students, faculty, staff, alumni, trustees, and supporters to share their hopes and priorities for Union’s next leader. The insights gathered are shaping the development of the presidential profile and guiding the search firm as it identifies a broad and diverse pool of candidates.

In the months ahead, the Search Committee will review candidate materials, conduct interviews, and engage in discernment to identify finalists for consideration by the Board of Trustees. The process will culminate in the announcement of Union’s next President in the Spring of 2026.

Throughout the search, Union remains committed to open communication, active community participation, and a process that reflects the Seminary’s enduring mission—preparing leaders who reimagine the work of justice in the world.
