Statement on Worship Service at Columbia

Categories: In the News

On Sunday, April 21st, Union Theological Seminary (UTS) students invited President Rev. Dr. Serene Jones to participate in a worship service at the encampment on the lawn at Columbia University at 5:30 pm. The small worship group was accompanied by UTS alumni and local clergy.

Upon arriving at the Columbia campus, President Jones asked NYPD officers if the full worship group could come past the barricades for the service.

The UTS worship group participated in the service and returned back to the UTS campus.
