On Saturday morning, June 9, from 10:00 a.m.—12:30 p.m., the New York Ave Presbyterian Church, 1313 New York Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C., will be presenting Embracing Dr. King’s Message for Today, a program featuring Unitas Distinguished Alumnus, the Rev. Dr. Raphael Warnock ’94, ’06.
Dr. Warnock, a current member of the Union Theological Seminary Board of Trustees, is pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Atlanta, Martin Luther King’s Church.
Part of the church’s Spring 2018 McClendon Scholar-in-Residence Program, titled, Martin Luther King’s Message for Today: ‘We Need a Revolution of Values,’ this will be a morning of music, inspirational messages, and small group conversation designed to explore ways to make Dr. King’s teachings real in your life.
Coffee and refreshments will be available starting at 9:30 a.m.
Since parking in downtown D.C. can be a challenge, the church is offering free parking to those attending the event at Green City Parking on H Street between 12th and 13th N.W., just one block from the church. Free childcare will also be available.
