Louisville-area alums are invited to gather on Thursday, February 20, at 7:00 p.m. on the occasion of the CEEP (Consortium of Endowed Episcopal Parishes) annual gathering in Louisville.
On this occasion, the Rev. Winnie Varghese, UTS ’99, Strategic Clergy, Global Initiatives, at Trinity Wall Street, and a current member of the UTS Board of Trustees, will be preaching at the conference’s opening worship service, which is open to the public. We will plan to meet in Calvary Church sanctuary at 6:45 p.m.
Rev. Varghese has been a priest for 20 years in parishes and has also served as a college chaplain. Prior to joining the staff of Trinity Wall Street, she served as priest-in-charge and then rector of St. Mark’s-in-the-Bowery, a vibrant and diverse church in New York City that tripled in size under her leadership. Through her writing on the Huffington Post and elsewhere, as well as her diocesan work, she has become a prominent voice for justice in the Episcopal Church.
If you plan on attending, please notify Emily Odom by email or by phone (see above) so that we will know to look for you. Alums who would be interested in gathering for an early dinner before the worship service are asked to contact Emily Odom by Monday, February 17, either by email or phone.
